Care for Elders Modules

The Care for Elders project has developed 16 interdisciplinary case based educational modules (for more information on these modules please see attached poster) that can be used anywhere in B.C. as they can be run by non-expert facilitators. Modules are paper problem and evidence based, interprofessional and linked to other reading or computer learning sites as is appropriate. The modules are given in small group learning opportunities with pre-reading and flexible schedules. Attitude, knowledge and skills objectives will all be built into the modules. The modules are revised on a regular basis. Facilitation of modules will occur in academic tertiary care centres and in small rural communities. Interprofessional Collaborative Learning Series (IP-CLS)

There is a growing need to change the way health care is delivered to ensure timely access health and human service professionals who provide comprehensive care.  Interprofessional collaboration is increasingly acknowledged as the best means of accomplishing this.  However, in order to have the skills and knowledge to practice interprofessionally, health care providers need to be trained interprofessionally.
In order to help practitioners gain the knowledge and skills to incorporate elements of interprofessional collaboration into practice, the College of Health Disciplines has developed an Interprofessional Collaborative Learning Series (IP-CLS).
